We all have triggers that spark strong emotional reactions. When those emotions aren’t fully processed, they can become “trapped” — lingering in the body as stuck energy. Over time, this can lead to pain, stress, or imbalance in our physical, emotional, and even spiritual health.
Energy healing practices like the Emotion Code and Body Code are designed to release these trapped emotions. But did you know there are things you can do before a session to create more openness, peace, and coherence in your body and mind?
Here are five simple practices you can start today.
1. Deep Breathing
Breathing deeply calms your nervous system and prepares your body for release. Try this exercise:
- Breathe in through your diaphragm (not your chest) for a count of 4.
- Hold the breath, drawing the energy upward, and gently tighten your abdominal muscles.
- Exhale slowly through your mouth to a count of 6.
- Hold again for a count of 4.
Repeat this cycle for 5–10 minutes. You’ll likely notice more clarity, calm, and focus.
2. Meditation
Meditation helps shift your awareness from the noise of your mind to the presence of Spirit. After your breathing practice, close your eyes and gently call on the name of God as you know Him — Yahweh, Elohim, Eternal Love, Creator.
Allow your imagination to follow where He leads. If distractions arise, picture placing them in a box to deal with later. With time, you’ll find yourself resting in peace and even joy.
Soft music can enhance this practice. Aim for 20–30 minutes of stillness.
3. Journaling
After meditation, take a few minutes to write. Journaling helps you process what you experienced and notice emotions that surfaced. Try noting:
- Where you felt emotions in your body
- Any themes or patterns that came up
- How your heart responded in the process
This step turns your inner experience into tangible reflection.
4. Grounding
Grounding reconnects you with the natural energy of the earth. Because we spend so much time surrounded by man-made materials — shoes, concrete, buildings — we often miss this vital connection.
To practice grounding:
- Go outside barefoot and stand on grass, dirt, or sand
- Touch a tree, or simply sit in nature with awareness
- Breathe deeply and notice how your body feels
Grounding restores balance and helps you feel centered and energized.
5. Personal Affirmations
Your words shape how you see yourself. Speaking truth and kindness over your life waters the seeds of greatness God has planted in you. Try repeating affirmations such as:
- “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
- “I am God’s treasure.”
- “His thoughts are constantly on me.”
- “I am equipped for success because He made me that way.”
Affirmations align your mindset with God’s truth and prepare your heart for deeper healing.
Bringing It All Together
Even practicing just one of these before an Emotion Code or Body Code session can make a difference. Over time, weaving them into your daily rhythm can bring peace, emotional resilience, and a stronger connection to God.
Your first session is a chance to experience this release for yourself, ask questions, and explore what freedom from emotional baggage might look like for you.
